Junghof Plaza — Frankfurt

At the Junghofplaza in Frankfurt’s city center, we reinterpreted a small, dimly lit foyer – not by visually enlarging it, but by deliberately staging color, material, and light. The result is a dense, atmospheric space that feels powerful despite its size and reflects the character of the building with precision.

Construction Project
Redesign of the foyer at Junghofplaza, Frankfurt am Main.

Scope of Services
Our focus was on developing a design concept that does not conceal the spatial conditions but intentionally highlights them. We immersed the entire room – walls, ceiling, and built-in elements – in a cohesive color world derived from the warm tones of the existing floor. This creates an immersive atmosphere that allows the space to be experienced as a unified whole.

A key feature of the concept is the custom-made wall paneling: metallic cladding elements with fine light details accentuate the area surrounding the elevator shaft and subtly reference the Junghofplaza’s corporate identity. Opposite them, horizontal wooden panels with integrated light bands provide a warm counterbalance and guide the eye toward the elevator.

Through the interplay of color, material, and light, a small yet expressive space emerges – combining elegance, depth, and clear orientation.
